Brit-rock
Saltstone turn in an unmistakeably British rock sound; their tunes have a 60s edge filtered through mid-90s indie rock, in the same way that the Brit-pop era mob did so effectively, and it means these tunes have a soft core wrapped in a slightly scuzzy guitar sound, giving them a nice comforting retro feel. 'Six Million' brings to mind bands like James; a catchy, poppy anthem backed by guitars with a jangly tone 'Newlyweds' has a richer, meatier sound, more alt-rock than indie perhaps, still with that 90s sound.
This Brit rock four piece have a good base here; solid tunes and vocals and some nice riffs, not mindblowingly original, but then that doesn't always make for a solid and memorable tune and these two tracks certainly do fit that bill.
