Yummy lo-fi rock
The two bands take it in turns on this cracking little split 7" release; first up is Into It, Over It with 'Cambridge MA' which is a lovely tune; short but sweetly melodic with some great guitar work and vocals. Pswingset's first offering, 'Everything That Was Tired' has a real old school emo edge to it, think Superchunk, the production on Pswingset's tunes is quite different though, pretty scuzzy and quite muffled which is either a bit of a shame or adds to the authentic retro feel depending on your point of view, whichever it is, it means this tune is a bit indistinct at times.
'Orlando FL', Into It, Over It's second track is faster and bouncier, a great dancing tune with a more layered and full sound, again great guitar and excellent vocals. This song is slightly Silversun Pickups but more quirky and jagged, yum. Final track, from Pswingset is 'Thanks For The Record', this one is more wistful and dreamy with acoustic guitar and echoes. Lovely. A solid split, four excellent tunes, coming highly recommended by us.
