Dreamy
Howard James Kenny's new single, "Insects" precedes his debut album, "Shelter Songs" to be released in April, and it is a lovely track. Putting a very modern spin on a classic folk sound the track rises from gentle picked guitar and effective synth loops and Howard's beautiful vocals; the melody is sweet and full of chimes and echoes, vocally he packs the song full of emotion, so at times it makes your skin tingle and heart ache. Although simple and gentle, the track commands your attention, making you wish for utter silence so you can take it in more fully. As a single it certainly does the trick of making you want to hear the album.
