Slightly odd, and that's a good thing

Opening their EP with 'Pi', a fast paced pop punk rock track, Go-X stake their claim on the genre.

Melodically it's a fun track, strong beats interspersed through the melody and guitars going a mile a minute to keep the pace going. Josh Lindner's voice holding that faint twinge that is stereotypical of this sound. They have all the pieces and are clearly passionate and talented; and yet, at times it seems that it doesn't quite work. The vocals grate against the guitars and ocassionally the beats seem at odds with the melody.

The rest of the EP follows the same vibe. Each song is almost a good song, but everytime something is slightly wrong.

This slight oddness could actually be the best thing that Go-X have done. It makes their songs stand out in what is a very crowded market. When put up against every other pop punk rock band in Britain right now, it's something that makes them memorable and after a few listens it's a sound that starts to grow on you, leaving you with the knowledge that once again, there really is great music coming from the Welsh Valleys.
