Sheer perfection
Day Of The Sirens have been bubbling at the edge of mainstream acknowledgement for a little while now, impressing critics with their live sound, their energy, and their sheer passion for what they do. Their second EP "A Kiss From Nyx" captures all the elegance of their live rock and adds a polish that is the icing on the cake.
Jack Fox's vocals are pitch perfect, as indeed are the rest of the band, and every song tells a tale. Opening with 'Home Is A Working Scene' the Essex boys set things up for 5 strong tracks that capture your attention and connect with your soul.
'Dark Days, Pt. 1' introduces dueling vocals and soaring melodies, counterpoint 'Dark Days, Pt. 2' is pure post-hardcore, harsh and angry on one side, smooth and pained on the other. 'We Are Our Memories' closes the EP showing off their heavier melodic side with rumbling beats and big riffs.
Day Of The Sirens have taken the traditional format of emo-rock (think melodic Funeral For A Friend) added even more depth to the sound, expansion to the melodies and immense talent and created songs that are near perfection.
