Auction For The Promise Club – One
Having already gained the attention of many music enthusiasts in the UK music scene with only the release of one single, this trio of musicians fronted by female vocalist Zoe White Chambers are about to take on the rest of the UK.
This debut EP One is a blend of indie guitar driven music and topped off by the soft female vocal. The opener Under China initiates the introduction to this band gently with some simple spoken lyrics and laid back ambiance before really punching out something with a much hard edge, stronger beat and melody. The follow up Liquid has a slightly different take with backing "ohhs" and the keys as a focus at times. It does however become quite catchy and you may find yourself singing along at times. If is much gentler and subdued in its presentation, with gentle tings and vocals that are soft and petit. After a minute or so however, things kick up with the drums and guitars destroying the simplicity and beautifulness of the verses to make way for the chorus. This combination suits the band extremely well particularly the nature of the vocals.
The concluding number on the EP is an upbeat blend of expanding vocals, getting much more confident in their volume and capability and some rather catchy lyrics on the chorus. Auction For The Promise Club is a rather pleasant surprise and their EP is one not to be missed.
