Hey Jude
London quartet The Jude's new single Heartbreaker is a rip roaring little ditty. The band describe their sound as "Vicious Skiffle" which is pretty accurate even if a bit off the wall. But we like that.
You can hear in the music that The Jude are determined to create their own sound, their own feel to their own songs and when it is as good as this it can only be a good thing. The vocals are just about right for the style of the music and it all melds together like a perfect fitting glove.
The B-Side Sadness Avenue, which is available as a free download from the bands website, is a completely different feel to Heartbreaker but as the title of the track suggests, it is a melancholy tune but an enjoyable one at that, if it is possible to enjoy being made to feel melancholy.
The Jude have got some pretty cool comments from some influential people on national radio and on this evidence we can understand why.
