The Monster Lives.

Power metal is something that is becoming more and more accepted within the social circles of the metal community. Brainstorm are such an example. Having toured with bands, like Exciter, Stormwitch and also Nightwish in the past, you kind of get where this band is coming from.

Opener 'Worlds Are Coming Through' kicks in with a Fear Factory groove and the vocals have the operatic prowess of Iron Maiden. 'All Those Words' features Nightwish-style female backing vocals.

Liquid Monster is a straight up power metal record with wall to wall galloping powerchord verses throughout the record. The vocals are a bit hit or miss, however, sometimes hitting some real Bruce Dickinson-vibrato and sometimes completely sounded a off-key.

Nevertheless, Liquid Monster does pick up in places with 'Invisible Enemy' sounding like a more melodic Arch Enemy. 'Heavenly' is a picturesque ballad and in true power metal style, is corny and rocking at the same time.

As many good points this album has it is an acquired taste for sure. A very retrospective record that has a lot of potential... It's not an Iron Maiden record but it's still got a lot of heart.
