A Silent Escape on paper are a band that look to be in their infancy. Formed a little over 18 months ago, the Swedish four piece are already set to release their debut, self titled album, a feat that may have many wondering just how good a full length they are capable of after such a short space of time. Can they really have the material for a whole album? Have the got the experience and know how to pull off a complete set of songs with panache? Well, luckily for the Swedes they let the music do the talking leaving A Silent Escape urging all to seek out more from the Swedish four piece.
A crash of a drum roll and an inescapable riff are all that it takes for A Silent Escape to weave their magic as album opener, Blackhole Gravity leads the band's attack with precision, passion and pure talent. Brutality melodic, Blackhole Gravity does exactly what its lyrics threaten, "sucking you in" through the mixture of throat aching growls and a hook heavy chorus that brandishes vocals that beg for you to sing along. For pessimists, such a brilliant opening track may have suggested that the band have hit their height early on but that is far from the case. Final Chapter bounds into your affections courtesy of pop punk jaunty beats and a feel good factor that makes this a track the perfect way to kick start a Friday night and undoubtedly will have you dancing around like an idiot within seconds, only leaving you to pause for breath before Losing Grip, complete with it's innuendo laced lyrics mixes the pop punk stance up with a touch of brutal brilliance. is certainly no boring listen; Ticket Back is a riff raging slice of back to basics rock whereas Bullets is a white knuckle ride of bare bones metal that still gives a melodic nod to all that just further proves that A Silent Escape has it all a whilst there is all room for improvement regardless of the band, A Silent Escape have crafted an debut album that will not leave you wanting, the Swedish four piece have managed to fill just over forty minutes with everything you could possibly want and done it with such a style that would leave many more mature bands hanging their heads in shame and wincing with jealousy.
With hints of Blink 182 mingling with Falling In Reverse and even hints of All Time Low and A Day To Remember bizarrely mingling with a Bullet For My Valentine metal ethos, A Silent Escape pack a pretty powerful punch, one that everyone should sit up and take notice of as this is a band that has plenty to offer. From their pop punk fun to their brash in your face rock that thrashes, snarls and pounds, A Silent Escape have it all, make sure you're not the one kept in the quiet about this band.
