Progressive metallers Devil Sold His Soul caused a real stir back in 2010 with the release of stunning second album Blessed And Cursed and the band have only gone and taken it a step further with forthcoming new album Empire Of Light.
A New Legacy is the second taste of the album's sound following the debut of opening track No Remorse, No Regrets and it's a cataclysmic collision of light and dark, with huge melodies springing forward from the untraditionally near-all melodic vocals of frontman Ed Gibbs while the music behind him crashes with the force of a thousand waves feeling like you're in the middle of the most amazing storm.
Leks Wood's brilliantly assured and measured drums give the song a powerful foundation while the subtle use of strings and electronics gives a genuinely epic feel to the skyward melodies being belted out.
