AC/DC - Live At River Plate

Live at River Plate sees AC/DC releasing their first live album in 20 years, the audio recording is from the same shows as the 'Live at River Plate' DVD which was released last year.

Live at River Plate contains the perfect mix of classic AC/DC songs such as Highway To Hell, TNT, Back In Black and You Shook Me All Night Long and songs from their most recent album Black Ice such as Big Jack. The album was recorded at Buenos Aires over three nights during their epic Black Ice World Tour, and each song sounds perfect.

One of the great things about Live at River Plate is that despite being able to hear the crowd, they do not overpower the band, for a large chunk of the album you could be forgiven for thinking you're listening to an AC/DC studio album.

The songs on here sound just like their studio versions, AC/DC's sheer talent is outstanding, the band sound sharp and show no sign of aging. Brian Johnson's voice sounds exactly the way it did when he had the difficult job of filling Bon Scott's shoes. This album should be seen as a testament of the vocal and playing ability of the band.

While you could say that the album is predictable in terms of the tracks featured, it is incredibly well performed and there are some fantastic twists along the way, perhaps none greater than the 18:07 minute version of Let There Be Rock, that features ten minute guitar solo from the ever energetic Angus Young.

Whether you're a diehard AC/DC fan or just getting into them, Live at River Plate is a must have album.
