Press to Meco – Affinity
The last year has been incredibly successful for Press To Meco, what with the release of their debut self-titled EP and countless live shows. However, this year looks set to be even greater for the trio with a performance at Download and the release of this new EP Affinity.
Released less than a year after its predecessor, Affinity delivers yet another five reasons why Press To Meco is a band to watch out for. First on the track list is the album's title track, a song that is bursting with huge riffs, some catchy melodies and introduces the bands three part harmonies; an element that stands out. There is the dominant vocal of the lead singer and then some strong backing vocals and harmonies. Wasting Time is another vocal success, lyrically creating a chorus to sing along with as well as melodies to lose yourself in. Although Honestly takes the pace down a little through the verses, it remains a fairly upbeat natured song on the choruses, at times really letting go and pounding out some excellent attention grabbing moments. Tired Bones is pretty similar in the sense it has it mellower moments then other time it really thumps along while Love and Reason rounds up the album on a high note.
If this release is anything to go by, Press To Meco has the ability and enthusiasm to take the future by the horns and hold on tight for a very busy path ahead.
