emo-tinged punk-rock

There is something very charming about Nobody Ever's emo-tinged punk-rock tunes, minimal in style but with a gruff-edged vocal delivery, nice (high in the mix) bass lines and some cracking melodies; there's nothing here not to like.

Opener On A July Sunday has you singing along by the second play through and although melodically it has a wistful feel it's not downbeat at all. Nobody Ever's sound has a strong American twang (think the kind of thing Tiny Engines / Cyls records put out and you're getting there) but the band still retains something very British (Leicester) at the core of their sound - you can hear it in the vocals and in the slightly gritty approach to the production. You can tell Nobody Ever aren't newcomers to music making, they make this EP so easy to listen to; it's cohesive and relaxed, they also inject tons of heart and cap it all off with great melodies and strong vocal lines to sing back. Wholly satisfying.
