Nobody, Ever - This Wall Is Dedicated To Liam And His Mates
Leicester-based Nobody, Ever consist of four close friends who have been playing music together for over a decade. After the release of their debut EP Everyone Stood By The Side Of The Road earlier in the year, they now release their sophomore EP This Wall Is Dedicated To Liam And His Mates.
The five track EP opens with When Your Heart's Already Left, which from the instant it kicks in, drums crash and guitars pound out some melodies. The vocals are very raw and at times uneven which gives a live feel to the song. Next up is Delete That, a song that takes things down a notch in terms of pace but remains very raw. Harmonies are more notable here but are drowned out a little by the rugged music. This is followed by The Last Good Thing which increases the pace once again and the harmonies are more tuned in. Room 505 see's the vocals really sway between a scream out live session and more focused singing. The latter, which is found more on the songs chorus, really sets the song alive and is what will gain admirers. The EP closes with We Sang "So Long...", a track that begins slower than it closes. The slower paced melodies give the vocals the chance to become more tuned into the music and the harmonies really exceed previous attempts at being united; this is the more favourable track on the album.
There is a lot of potential within this band and it can be heard through the melodies and well written lyrics. With just a little more honing in on the vocals to become a little less scream in your face and more in tune with the surrounding music and things will really begin to take off for Nobody, Ever.
