Returning in fine form
So where have JJ72 been since we last heard from them? Well they've traded bassist Hilary Woods for the equally adorable Sarah Fox. Singer Mark Greaney's vocals have remained equally brooding and sultry and they may just be headed straight back into the charts with this new single.
An electronic lament, "She's Gone" is stunning and the most memorable JJ72 song that I can, well, remember. Backed by big 80's electro beats, and the moaning, nasal vocals of Mark Greaney. The driving percussion, guitar tinged with crazy effects and the harmonic synth vocals work perfectly together to create an atmospheric, all-embracing sound. If this is anything to go by, forthcoming album "On" could mirror the success of their 2000 self-title debut.
