The Departure are worth sticking around for…

Rocking, rocking, rocking. The Departure bang into action with a sound which I expect The Bravery envy and The Killers respect. It's got that cool eighties groove about it, racing from start to finish with glorious snare sounds, raring guitaristry and a hipness no one can currently rival, except maybe Moving Units.

Having supported the likes of Graham Coxon and The Killers one can immediately see the clout and credibility this band must possess. 'All Mapped Out' oozes a love of synthed-up tune and blares forthright 'hard-hit' presence.

A sound that hails from the industrial parks of Kraftwerk's Germany and the metallic streets of London with elements of dark New York alleys. It conforms to the 'Sound of Now' and confirms that we're not in the era of another worthless fad. Influences seep out of The Departure's noise, but unlike The Bravery who seem to have adopted every part of New Order's aesthetic, they are very distinct.
