Martin Grech produces a top notch piece of dark music
Martin Grech is a performer I have heard of oft before, both through the infamous car advert featuring the haunting 'Open Heart Zoo', and through his reputation for putting out first class atmospheric rock music. Cropped from his second album release 'Unholy' the song 'Guiltless' confirms this deserved reputation.
The radio edit, alas, does not show off the strengths of the album which truly is a shame considering it is the only version the vast majority of people will ever hear. Gone are the longer atmospheric instrumental sections from the album version (thankfully included on the single) and the impression given from the radio version is quite simply an artist not being allowed to breathe. The album version however is a different story altogether, the changes from intense guitar melodies to dirty sounding industrial symphonic stylings. A must listen for any fan of the darker side of today's rock and industrial.
