JJ72 Coming home
When I first heard 'Snow', the first single by JJ72 I declared that I quite liked it, much to the howls of derisive laughter from my mates. However, I got tired of it after a bit and subsequently haven't taken much notice of their output. Listening to this single, I remember why. Their singles are dull.
Sarah Fox has replaced Hilary Woods on bass and supposedly adding new dimensions in the new sound of the band. I don't know about the album, but this sounds like the same old same old. The vocals of Mark Greaney are as annoying and whingey as they ever were; the whole thing is as plodding as a knackered old carthorse. If it was a stick of rock it would have Plodsville Tenesee all the way through. It's the same all the way through, no middle eighth, no quirks, nothing to make you want to listen.
Put it on when you can't sleep; it'll send you off nicely.
