The Dandy Warhols Are Smoking It
Well, the Dandys do it again. From the single looks like their feet are firmly planted back into the world of psychedelic-pop.
A few things immediately come to mind. The 90's Britpop sound of Blur, Bob Dylan with 2000 volts up his arse and The Chambers brothers seminal psych epic 'The Time Has Come Today'.So you're beginning to get my drift. Of course, youngsters who are blissfully unaware of the influences will probably like it.
The guitars are a good deal crunchier than on some of the past offerings. It's loud and it's brash. It's not the most original thing I've ever heard, but then nothing in art is new is it?
This is the first cut from the new album 'Odditorium Or Warlords Of Mars'. Hope it's as good and as varied as 'Welcome To The Monkey House'. I suppose we'll have to wait until September 13th to find out.
