No Hope In New Jersey

Although this four piece are from Manchester, that is the end of the comparisons with either the current or any of the previous music trends that the city has produced. They've made it known that they're an act that is independent from any scene and are mostly influenced by others who do their own thing, regardless of where it fits. Particular favourites appear to be David Bowey, Clash, Pixies and Sepultura, although as you might imagine this new single isn't really like any of those.

This debut release, along with the rest of their new album 'Steady Diet of Decline', has been produced by Chris Sheldon, who has Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters amongst the bigger names on his CV. So it is no surprise that the two tracks on offer here, 'Decline' and the b-side 'Existential Burn', are no mucking about, straight down the middle, high energy, proper catchy rock songs that will sound great blasting out of a radio. The two elements that really shine through are the hit the ground running guitar rifts, which are complemented well by chorus harmonies of the same high standard as Ash.

They've developed a strong live following that means that their debut album is one which has a real feeling of anticipation surrounding it, 'Steady Diet of Decline' is out towards the end of August, with 'Decline' available from August 8th.
