Traditional Rock styled Thunder fail to entertain

Harking back to the Classic era of Rock music I thought I would enjoy Thunder. "Something fun" I thought "Something retro, something simple and fun". Unfortunately I was proven entirely wrong, as "I'm a lucky man" is not the enjoyable 4 minutes of fun I was expecting.

Opening with the sort of simple guitar riff you will have heard on uncountable amounts of other simple Rock songs you can immediately tell "I'm a lucky man" is not going to be particularly memorable, or for that matter, particularly enjoyable. The rhythmn section is similarly nondescript and there is little that can be said about it.

Thats not to say this single is entirely devoid of any value whatsoever, the vocals although indistinguishable from so many other acts of this nature are fairly enjoyable and there is nothing to really criticise about them. Although as noted above the guitars for the most part are rather uninspiring there is an interesting and enjoyable guitar solo, unfortunately however this only begins when the song is starting to fate out.

Overall then this isnt a particularly noteworthy track worthy of praise - but nor is it particularly bad enough to really criticise. "I'm a lucky man" is the sort of track which will fit into any Classic Rock bar across the nation but is hardly going to set anyones world alight.
