As heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are heading towards their Carling Festival dates, what better way to celebrate their return than to release a true classic?
The Trooper is a 4 minute fast paced heavy metal anthem containing a glorious solo, a staple of their live shows also. Although with all this re-releasing and these compilations, DVDs and the what not it may seem that Maiden are cashing in, but it appears to be what the fans want at the moment.
The second track is The Trooper taken from the upcoming live album Death on the Road. The production is of very high standard and this live version seems to be even better than the studio version, if the performance on the live album will be like this, it will be VERY fucking good.
If you ARE one of those people who seem to think that Maiden are merely cashing in with this re-release, don't buy it. If you are a hardcore Maiden fan who wants to get a new taste of the live album as well as buy a legendary single, buy it, Simple as that. This is a glorious reminder of how great Maiden are.
