Untitled - Could simple plan have gone serious?

Awwwww Simple Plan are trying to grow up, right in front of our very eyes! Despite how cool you think you are the boys admittedly write a good pop ballad. It even has a message in it for their young fans to follow-don't drink and drive, and though syrupy sweet and tooth achingly hard to not cringe at when the "punk" element, that comes in with a surprising guitar solo which appears amongst the violins and pianos, this is really head capturing catchy. I'm sure a lot of us rather shamefully remember when Good Charlotte released their more serious song 'Hold On' and this is Simple Plans version, their attempt to use their worldwide adoring audience for a greater good.

Well Done to the boys for branching out and going beyond the three chord pop punk, but this takes it self far to seriously, more than one listen and it'll never leave your head and Mr Bouviers voice is something I can't quite handle for more than it's usual 3 minute max, a nice effort but nothing special.
