Chikinki - All Eyes

Meet Chikini, the creators of the sexiest, upbeat, techno-tinged music this side of anywhere. Sung in a voice halfway between the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Feeder’s Grant Nicholas, and polished off with stylish beats and a clean and smooth distorted chord sequence, ‘All Eyes’ is an instant hit.

The song’s bouncy and fun, whilst being cool and chilled- all one could wish for in two minutes and fifty-three seconds. And they’ve got the length exactly right; you wait for the song to end with your finger hovering over ‘repeat’ just to hear it again, and again and again. It’s a dirty trick to prolong the usage of your Chikinki single, but you won’t care because you need another hit, repeat repeat repeat.

Something new is added into the mix after every sequence of events much like Death in Vegas’ ‘Dirge’ then it all builds up into a wonderful chorus that would be very fitting on Feeder’s ‘Echo Park.’ And then it finishes, repeat, repeat.

There’s a lovely little synth bit and nice widdly guitar riff to keep your eardrums happy, then it stops and you press repeat, repeatedly pressing repeat. The thing with Chikini’s ‘All Eyes’ is, even after the twelfth repetition, it’s still as good as it was on first play. A single deserving of massive recognition and a band worthy, at least, of all the fame lesser acts get with lesser songs, but deserving of so much more.

This one song is a must for your record collection, get it, repeat it! Addictive and sugary sweet- just what you need for a mid week pickup.
