Breezy Eclectic Pop
'Repeat To Fade' is a sparkling slice of eclectic electronic trickery that plays on beautiful female vocals with a breezy retro feel. It's the essence of charming and easygoing, but with a playful undertone encompassing all manner of instruments from brass to twinkling bells. A light, feelgood track to ease you into the day on an early morning, 'Repeat To Fade' is pretty and well played, but it just lacks a certain edge that would make people really passionate about the staggered guitar chords or the elegant vocals.
Although it's cute and sounds like an airy, more simplified Arcade Fire, I'm not sure who 'Repeat To Fade' will appeal to; it's equal parts sweet, pretty pop and smart indie, but whether it will really score points with either camp remains to be seen, although support slots with Goldfrapp can hardly have done them any harm.
