Hammer Time!
Industrial legends Rammstein return with 'Benzin', the first single from their forthcoming album 'Rosenrot'. After a ten year career what's left to eb said about Rammstein? Industrial metal pioneers they have amassed an impressive back catalogue and managed to retain their integrity whilst simultaneously becoming the biggest selling band in Germany.
'Benzin' hints that the forthcoming album is not going to disappoint anyone, fast, layered and dark it's familiar territory. Rammstein have it nailed and what they do, they do exceedingly well. Huge riffs backed with keyboards and punishing drumming are swathed in Till Lindemann's dark vocals. There's no denying that 'Benzin' must be a total powerhouse of a track when played live! Whilst it won't disappoint anyone I don't think 'Benzin' will surprise anyone either, it's more of the same really, if you love Rammstein I expect you'll love this, hate them and this won't win you over.
Following the title track come three remixes by such luminaries as Meshuggah but it's Apocalyptica's remix that is the highlight of these three. As you'd expect they throw strings all over it but it really does give it a haunting quality that runs the standard version close!
