Teen Age Hor-moans

"Like, Blink 182 are our faaaaavourite band, totally, no but we're British, so we're different, really." Koopa are the male counterparts to York's The Fight to an extent, barring K8 Fight's distinct vocal ability of course. However cute, poppy, youthful and exuberant these Koopa boys come across as at first, it sucks to say, there is nothing new here. There is no progression beyond the three chords that this genre is famed for or the whiney drones of adolescence that it accommodates. By no means is this a sin, but it gets dull fast when every band ever has played this song before at some point, and by this song I mean all of three them.

The novelty factor of "awwww, they're British" and "aww the live track sounds almost just like the recorded version" wears off pretty fast and I get bored fast, and though I commend them for trying - they're no Nofx, no Green Day and no Rancid no matter how hard they try. Sad but true.

Not bad, not brilliant, not even Blink 182, but close tries manage to help them scrape by. One for the kids who missed the first boat of punk rock to punk pop and back again; us grown ups have grown up bands to occupy us while these kids tread water.
