Punk Power

The Sound Explosion certainly live up to their name; as soon as you press play you're blasted with some creative feedback before being shot into the fast-paced, raucous mass of frenetic sound that is 'Apollo'. Never fear though, there are some relenting moments of more tuneful and melodic guitar work that take a step back from the pounding energy of the rest of the tune. Even the tambourine seems to be moving at a blistering speed. Big, brash and self assured, this is one of hulk of a rock tune.

'Let It Turn Inside Itself' throws some light speed lyrics in your face in its frantic chorus, but it's a tune that most certainly has some strong instrumental work underpinning the punk drive. The guitar work is pretty astute when it's serving as more than a blanket of hardcore sound, there are some nice echoing riffs and soulful licks.

The Sound Explosion combine youthful, powerful vocals; driving guitars with distinct ability and pounding drums to create an effective, anthemic pair of songs that could certainly catch on.
