Cutting, Melodic Rock

The Most Terrifying Thing deliver urgent, sharp indie rock with a metallic edge that could slice your eardrums if it wasn't for the shining melody. 'Things Always Change' resonates grunge with its chiming, dirty guitars and slowly peaks of chugging riffs that grip the listener. The vocals are full of honest promise and the tune manages to achieve an epic scale without any yelling or brutal guitar assaults; the mark of a skilled band who know how to use melody to engage the audience and affect tension. The musing, anxious, reflective pauses do bear a resemblance to Nirvana, which has been picked up on by many reviewers, but it seems a rather expectant comparison to heap on any band.

This young Liverpool band could just be the new cutting rock group ready to win over the youth of the nation's affections, if 'Things Always Change' is anything to go by, their forthcoming debut album could be one to snap up.
