Nightmare Of You

The self-titled album from Nightmare Of You seems to be on it's way to stealing The Killers place in the album charts; they've already stolen Brandon Flowers eyeliner and dress sense.

From their name I was expecting a heavier and more rockier sound, and the pink floral album cover, well that must have been some sort of irony... but no; this album is pure radio friendly pop rock through and through.

Opening track the 'Days Go By Oh So Slow' is full of well-polished guitars and vocals, which funnily enough has a Killers vibe about it. 'Dear scene, I Wish I Were Deaf' is bound to get maximum exposure across the radio and music channels, it's a sickeningly sweet sugar coated pop song that could have easily came from a back catalogue of Busted tunes. Acoustic led 'Thumbelina' sees the band singing about sexual deviants, showing some kind of lyrical diversity but still sounding like Busted/McFly/Son of Dork and the list goes on. 'In The Bathroom Is Where I Want You' has an 80s feel about it, which may pay a small homage to the bands influences.

'My Name Is Trouble' is more upbeat and has a more unique sound than the rest of the album apart from 'I want To Be Buried In Your Backyard' that sees lead singer Brandon Reilly in a strange mood, singing some subtly haunting confessions. 'Marry Me' is a very chilled track, and is bound to be very successful if released as a single and add to the hype the band has already received.

Overall the album is well produced, full of uplifting and melodious songs and is bound to be a hit, just as Brandon Reilly is going to be among the ever growing population of young emo girls.
