Good Light-Hearted Rock
A song called 'The Smell' is about as endearing as a rottweiler chewing on your lower limbs; however once you get past the comedic title and plain daft lyrics, "Liar cheater bogey eater", there's a good catchy tune. Filled with snappy riffs, yelping guitars and breakneck vocals with theatrical wails; this isn't the kind of tune that the critics will rate, but it can't be faulted in terms of good frenetic rock in the offhand style of The Offspring.
'A Cure For Living' is slower and has an emo-feel with steady percussion and a earnest spoken word chorus with monotonous wise words such as "Avoid making enemies because you never know when you might need that person's help". Finally there's a screaming guitar peak and our expectations are fulfilled by the raging hoarse vocals.
