Swede sensations!

Sweden's eight strong indie pop collective The Concretes strike it lucky again here with three minutes of sublime pop music from one of the best albums you're likely to encounter all year ("In Colour"). The Concretes are a band who could set the pools panel results to music and still make them sound like the most life affirming thing you'd heard in years. Over a wash of acoustic guitars, sixties sounding keys, gentle brass and a skipping beat they perfectly compliment a magisterial vocal performance by head Concrete Victoria Bergsman here. She coos in that deliciously dreamy yet husky voice "have you seen my chosen one recently, if you do tell him I'm in for love" and sets the pulses of the nation's indie kids racing just a little more quickly than usual. The fact that Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley) is on hand to sprinkle gold dust over the production only stacks up the odds in the band's favour. This is a gem of a single that you'd be well advised to embrace it with all you've got.
