'Better Way' is a bright tune perfect for the summer; perhaps it can even convince the fine British sunshine to emerge! Country guitars, reggae vocal styling and a busy rock rhythm combine to form the uncompromising optimism, which shapes the record. With the lyrics kept to a simplistic minimum, there's time for the instruments themselves to really make an impact; from the forceful tamboura rhythm to the scrabbling guitar sound. Although Ben Harper is about to release his 6th studio album, his sound is by no means tired or overdone.
The 'War Mix' of the track offers some brash hollering, instead of the serene hippy feel of the 'Peace Mix'; it makes sense. This lovely laidback tune buzzes with eclectic energy and simply begs you to relax.
