Offbeat and Upbeat

One of the strongest offerings from their recent album, '7/4 Shoreline' is an offbeat wonder, which combines balmy guitars with bright snappy vocals in a fantastic collision of atmospheric sounds. It is the perfect chill out tune that evokes memories of sunny days and lapping tides, but it's equally full of toe-tapping moments with drums, which are constantly leaping out of the speakers and a burst of bubbly brass towards the end.

B-side 'Stars and Spit' is funkier with twinkles of piano and brass peaking out from the fast-paced percussion and synth flood, the echoing vocals still maintaining a laidback feel throughout as if oblivious of all the other instrumental interruptions. Broken Social Scene offer music which subtly charms your senses while remaining light and airy.
