Once I was a wolf...
Northern rockers Lovemat storm out with a tune that defies its peers with a mixture of classic metal riffs, seventies rock rawness and a sprinkling of indie to satisfy even the most cynical contemporaries.
'Between The Lines' starts with screeching guitars, a thick fuzz-box riff then a pounding drum beat breaking into you brain and running around in a hysterical rhythmic tune, making you want to commit all kinds of random acts of anarchy. It's a tune to break things too. It's an anthem to piss off your parents. It's a song to play loud when your boss fails to reward your work with a pay rise. It almost makes you proud to be British!
B-side 'Lost In The City' is another slice of tough rock which lyrically tackles the subject off our animal instincts whilst being confused in the big smoke.
An influence of AC/DC and Judas Priest, along with a dash of stoner rock and shaking together with some Great British flavour, Lovemat give us a sound that we are just beginning to realise, is what we've been waiting for, for a bloody long time. Good work fellas!!
