'Oh-Ohhh' – Remember that refrain, it'll come in very useful when this band explode onto the scene proper.

Evidence from their recent support slot with Bell X1 would suggest The Upper Room are a very decent live band, and evident in the fact that they got signed to Columbia Records after the label only heard three of their tunes, is that this band have something going for them.

And there's no doubt about that! 'Black And White' is pure unadulterated British guitar pop with an evolved twist to it. It's fresh, it's new and it's laden with hooks, none more so present than the pre-chorus 'Oh-Ohhh' that will have every audience, whether familiar with The Upper Room or not, singing along at gigs after just a bit of airplay.

And that's what they're getting, Radio 2's been running them in the afternoon, as well as countless others, it's all building very fast for The Upper Room, so it's worth knowing the name, before you make a fool of yourself decrying them as a new band no one's ever heard of!
