Meet Me In St Louis - And With The Right Kind Of Eyes You Can Almost See The Water Mark That Place Where The Wave Finally Broke And Rolled Back

Meet Me In St Louis release an EP with possibly the longest name in history; 'And With The Right Kind Of Eye You Can Almost See The High Water Mark That Place Where The Wave Finally Broke And Rolled Back' which is a quote from Hunter S. Thompson.

With a mix of music that is both beautifully and schizophrenic it's hard to put these boys into a genre. The EP launches into action with 'We Need To Act Like We Don't Need, This Shit, Then They Give Us The Shit For Free' with drums spitting like gunfire and guitar riffs attacking from all sides, the vocals through the album out are top notch too.

Each song has similar structures but are different enough to hold your attention. The band wrap up with the very clever 'You Said Your Finger Was A Gun' that breaks the unwritten golden rule of never finishing an album with an acoustic track, especially when every song so far has been a hell of a lot heavier but Meet Me In St Louis do it well and it's refreshing to see a UK band pushing the boundaries for a change. In short this album is clever and captivating with a unique twist and is well worth a listen.
