Sultry, Smooth Indie
A massive tune that glitters with a sultry syncopated rhythm while keeping a dark and seedy captivating atmosphere. With the instant appeal of the Kaiser Chiefs but the sophistication of a casino full of millionaires, Doloroso are on the fast road to success. It may of course help that half of the band were previously in electro-rock outfit Simian but a moody moaning choir; intense, sharp vocals and a fair mix of shimmying percussion and charismatic piano chords makes this an un-missable tune in its own right.
'High Times In Middle Management' is like a neurotic ride through glamorous Monte Carlo and certainly captures a snapshot of indie brilliance that's nothing like any of the current chart fodder. With an album out this summer, Doloroso could definitely be one to watch.
