Gaining In Stature All The Time
Miss Black America latest release 'Emotional Junkmail' is now on the streets and should be getting better air play than it is currently receiving. The single has been taken from the highly acclaimed album 'Terminal', which this site judged as 13 out of 13.
At first listen 'Emotional Junkmail' seems rather an unassuming song that slowly builds up. The track opens with an intro that builds slowly into a crescendo of swirling intertwined guitar melodies. There is a strong emotional attachement in 'Emotional Junkmail' that heads off with some searching punk vocals. The lyrics seem politically heavy but are so well suited to this song, with the line that a lot of people would recognise "Just tell me what I wanna hear/I need the easiest answer" how many people in life go around wanting that easy answer?
The second track 'It's All Right' opens with the line "consider this a fond farewell", all I can say is I hope it isn't. This is a fantastic acoustic sounding number. Again with searching melodies and lyrics all ways questioning.
This latest single just cements what we already know about Miss Black America, they are a brilliant British band that are going places. 'Emotional Junkmail' is a song that we can all identify with.
