Not Impressing
Put your hand up if you like The Motorettes... Get out! - Well, admittedly this song, 'You Better Look The Parts' is better than their previous atrocity 'Super Heartbeats', apart from its crap title. It bangs out a motif centred around 'Death on the Ra-D-I-O' and it is persistent and forthright enough to actually be memorable, even if it's slightly annoying and nauseating at the same time.
The same can't be said of the second track and certainly not of the third; they depreciate in listening value until there's none at all as the CD runs through the order. 'It's Them. Blast 'Em' sounds tediously horrible, the singing trying its hardest to emulate Caleb Followill's (Kings Of Leon) style, but falling way short of the mark, quite tragically short, it's a horrible out-of-tune whine, like sandpaper rubbing against your scrotum. It gets better as the song proceeds, and the music makes it just salvageable.
'(Shall I) Shine A Light' however, is just plain shite. So, The Motorettes have done it again; failed to impress, but this time they managed to draw out the process and lasted a little while in the player before being written off...
