A Stellar Debut
Fresh from supporting Every Time I Die and playing Download, Reading quintet Exit Ten release their debut mini album "This World, They'll Drown"; it only has five tracks but it's far from mini in sound.
Opening track 'Softwatch' sets the pace for the rest of the album, with furious drumming and swooning guitars that create some huge riffs. Ryan Redman's vocals are delivered in epic proportions, his depth and range is perfectly backed up by the band's punchy and tight playing, which together have created a sound that has made them one of the most talked about young bands around at the moment. You can hear that this is a talented group of musicians, especially drummer Chris Steele.
This is a good debut release but at times you wish the band would try to push the boundaries a little and step away from clean vocals and try something a little more aggressive and powerful. It's fair to say that Exit Ten will soon be a force to be reckoned with.
