Fire and skill

Can I make it through this review without the inevitable reference to the 'b' word that seems to be a legal requirement for all articles that mention national treasure Graham Coxon? You'll just have to read on to find out!

This mod-punk gem is one of the highlights from Coxon's solo tour de force 'Love Travels At Illegal Speeds'. A rip-snorting blast of white-hot guitar rock it flies by like an amphetamine addled wilderbeest. More contagious than measles but infinitely more fun 'I Can't Look At Your Skin ('Cos It's Doing Me In)' is a sharp guitar wielding slap across the face to all the young pretenders (you know who you are) who seem intent on milking Coxon's legacy dry with their pale facsimiles of his all-action mod pop. It's a warped world we live in where Coxon is landed with the onerous task of supporting the Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi et al, when he should be the one headlining Brixton Academy for five consecutive nights. This record is brilliant but what else did you expect? There's that 'b' word again. One suspects that others will talk of this single in similar glowing terms.
