Fools Mould
The world isn't just full of crashing bores, it's also full of of awful, soul-less compilations like 'The Best Housework Album In The World Ever...' and ' Songs For Independent Women". I'm sad to report that the new single from the fresh-faced Helen Boulding will probably be coming to a compilation like one of the aforementioned travesties I mention very soon.
Given a bit of marketing oomph this single could be a big hit you see. It's got the glossy production, Boulding's brassy, rich vocals and the requisite "you go girl" independent woman quotient but seriously does the world really need another song about how awful men are? Actually scrap that last sentence. Does the world really need another distinctly mediocre song about how awful men are? I blame KT Tunstall for this kind of bland pop-rock nonsense.
I'm off to listen to the new Grates album instead as at least that takes a more enlightened approach to dissecting the male ego i.e. it matches killer tunes to lyrics with bite. You couldn't really level those comments at this rather hackneyed single.
