You can have it!
White Rose Movement first came to prominence earlier this year with high profile support slots alongside bands such as The Rakes and with the release of their debut album.
'London's Mine' has their trademark electronic retro sound stamped all over it and if you've heard WRM before then you'll know exactly what to expect. In it's favour 'London's Mine' is catchier than much of their other work, the chorus in particular features good melody and the delivery (particularly in the vocals) is punchy and to the point. The keyboards really make this track though being both simple and very effective at the same time.
Second track 'Test Card Girl' sounds a bit like early Duran Duran and I'm afraid it does sound very dated because of it. It's on this track that the problem with WRM becomes evident, the tunes just aren't quite there; they seem to do everything right in terms of production and delivery but when the song finishes I struggle to remember how it goes. There is certainly a market for bands like WRM but with a very one dimensional sound their wider appeal and longevity could be in question.
