Australian rockers Jet return with new single 'Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is' after their highly successful debut album 'Get Born' catapulted them into the mainstream.
The first thing to hit you about 'Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is' are the incredibly annoying high pitched vocals in the verse. Once you get over that though it's not a bad song. The main body of the tune is an unremarkable rock and roll riff, somewhere between The Stones and Aerosmith. The chorus is decent and fairly rousing but it's more of the same really, yeah it rocks out a bit but it doesn't have much else about it to make it stand proud.
The guitar solo has a distinct AC/DC feel to it and again, whilst it's pretty good there's nothing exceptional about it or the song in general. Jet are a good rock and roll band to be sure but then so are lots of other bands and 'Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is' isn't good enough to elevate them to 'great' rock and roll band status.
