Not yet ready to fall

Chicago punkers Rise Against return with the new single off of their fourth album 'The Suffer & The Witness'. Appearing on the main stage at the magnificent Warped Tour, they are currently on tour with Thursday and the great Billy Talent.

'Ready To Fall' shows that although Rise Against are a punk band, they lean more towards the commercial rather than the real ranting roots of the genre. Starting off gently, then kicking in with a mid tempo thick riff, 'Ready To Fall' has chugging bass lines with a melodic twist in the verse, whilst the bridge splatters screamo around the walls before the chorus rings out. It's a nice song, and although it's nothing particularly new, it seems to fit into a little place of it's own.

Once again showing that they have great talent, it's easy to see why they are touring with the likes of Thursday and Billy Talent, who all tap into the slightly easier on the ear punk, that shouldn't be confused with the sugery-sweet pop/punk, nor the chameleon street punk that Rancid produce.

Not deviating too much from the formula of previous albums it's interesting to see how the rest of the album sounds. This may not be the best song from the album, but I'm sure that it will be up there.
