Second single from latest album 'Freedom Fields'.
The second single from latest album 'Freedom Fields', is released on October 16th. His record label Relentless is also the home of Joss Stone and KT Tunstall, so a high profile career undoubtedly beckons.
'The White Hare' is based around an ancient tale from his home of Dartmoor, and the experience of this song is very much a fusion of old folk meets new. The upbeat acoustic guitar creates a cheerful tone for the song, but Seth's delivery ensures it steers clear of seeming trite, by performing with an unmistakable passion. While this song is unlikely to make any listener form an extreme opinion on it, it manages to be a strong example of sincere modern folk. Coupled with an instrumental version during which the vocals of the song can still be heard quietly, this single is enjoyable, and this song manages to find the right mixture of longing and hope, meaning this listener can't help but be left with a smile on my face. A warm song with plenty to offer, Seth Lakeman just might be one to keep an eye on.
