Another single from new wave Londoners.
Independiente hopefuls White Rose Movement release their latest single 'Love is A Number' on October 30th. Taken from their debut album 'Kick', the London based indie-electro troop are quickly building a loyal fanbase. Beginning with a synth-heavy intro this song really starts as it means to go on. With the slightly robotic delivery of the vocals championed by the likes of Interpol, this song is exactly what you'd expect after hearing the words indie-electro. It fits neatly into the recent embrace of all that can be classed as new wave, and will presumably appeal to fans of Joy Division, Interpol and Bloc Party. This song has obvious potential to be a filler of indie dance floors everywhere, and while it isn't at all bad, it doesn't have much written in its 'good' column either. A briefly entertaining but easily forgettable morsel of electro. I'm not sure if White Rose Movement have recently clambered onto the already heaving bandwagon or not, but if they haven't their formulaic sound is doing them a vast disservice.
