Major label debut from Indie quartet.
Being touted as a band to keep an eye on in 2007, Air Traffic release the single 'Never Even Told Me Her Name' on October 30th, to be followed by an EP. Their first release since signing with EMI, 'Never Even Told Me Her Name' is a frantic piano fuelled knees up which has the 1970s sound always favoured by Supergrass, mixed with a modern bounce to the proceedings.
A brief but heavily infectious song, it's easy to imagine 'Never Even Told Me Her Name' being played on the radio, and indeed Air Traffic have already been championed by the likes of Jo Whiley, and the NME who described them as "Supergrass covering Little Richard", the band certainly do sound reminiscent of Supergrass, and with the current trend for utterly turgid and massively uninspiring bands that is certainly no bad thing.
With a sold out Fierce Panda single already under their belts and a relentless 25-date UK tour throughout October, it's impossible to imagine Air Traffic remaining unknowns for much longer. With their likeable melodies and charming vocals, this four piece deserve your immediate attention, go on, just take your eyes off the latest batch of hopeless X-Factor contestants for a minute, and give them a try.
