Latest single from Radiohead main man.
The latest single from the critically lauded debut album 'Eraser', 'Analyse' is the perfect blend of uneasiness and emotion, feelings Thom Yorke can always be counted on to evoke in his listener. 2006 has been a mightily successful year for Mr Yorke with a mind-blowing Radiohead tour which showcased some sublime material, in addition to the release of his exceptional and Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album.
'Analyse' is a song mixing electronics with stirring piano work, bringing together several of Radiohead's most effective sounds. Yet the sound here is more sparse than anything Radiohead have produced for some time, giving breathing space to highlight Yorke's amazingly moving vocals and placing more influence on his ever strong lyrics. As a long time Radiohead fan, Thom Yorke is someone I will always have time for, and 'Analyse', to excuse a weak pun, is a song which needs little analysis. It is a subtle yet mighty song which easily pulls the listener under its brooding spell. I may be heading for controversy by saying this but if 'Kid A' had sounded more like this I think I would have given it a lot more listening time.
